I wonder why this kid is crying? He has a huge watermelon all to himself, why on earth would he cry? He’s pretty portly, which would mean the kid loves watermelons. Maybe his parents were gunned down by a watermelon? Now he will become watermelon man! I don’t know. What’s your thoughts?
Twenty-five years ago today, Steve Morrissey and company released Meat is Murder to the world. I wouldn’t discover this album until many years later, but once I did, I was hooked. To this day, it’s a reliable fallback for good tuning. Those clever lyrics, ironic celebrations of shyness and awkwardness may not move me as they did when I was a clever swine, but I still think and hear them fondly. I celebrated this anniversary by not eating meat!*
