Twenty-five years ago today, Steve Morrissey and company released Meat is Murder to the world. I wouldn’t discover this album until many years later, but once I did, I was hooked. To this day, it’s a reliable fallback for good tuning. Those clever lyrics, ironic celebrations of shyness and awkwardness may not move me as they did when I was a clever swine, but I still think and hear them fondly. I celebrated this anniversary by not eating meat!*

When I was just a little tortilla, I used to be really into punk. Bad Brains were always one of my favorite punk bands and I’m so excited to see that they’re going to be releasing a documentary, I can’t wait to see it!
So Jovi Rockwell‘s mixtape was released way back in November, and I’ve been bumping it ever since, but since THE STUFF ABOUT STUFF didn’t exist at that time I had no where to rave about Jovi. It’s feels nice to have this weight lifted off of me, now that I’ve told our millions of readers about her. I mean just watch the video and tell me that doesn’t make you wanna get up and dance! I’ll refrain from making the obvious comparisons, because I think Jovi is gonna blow up soon, and every other blog/magazine will be saying the same thing. If you’re down with Major Lazer you’ve probably heard this Jamaican rapper/dj/singer on their “Can’t Stop Now” track with Mr. Vegas, but be sure to download her mixtape Psycho Therapy, if it weren’t free, I’d buy it, that’s how much I love it.
